All of us, at different times, have needed some extra support to find our next steps, build our skills, or navigate struggle
A common metaphor for our mental health is that of tending to a garden. Our self-care is reflected in the richness of the soil. Our thoughts and habits are the plants and seeds that have been sown and nurtured. This is our mind garden.
Do we give ourselves good soil with self-love and compassion and nourish it with self-care? Are we mindful of the seeds we plant and water? Can we have patience with our process of growing or do we shame ourselves for not being where we want to be?
Tending the mind garden involves weeding out those thoughts and beliefs that do not take us to our best selves and planting good seeds so that we may cultivate a life that is supportive, purposeful, and filled with joy. Our sessions can be a safe place to become aware of and explore the thoughts and habits that might not be serving you and shift them to be more supportive. No matter the state of your mind garden, with attention and care, it can be transformed.
